Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at IISER TVM houses state-of-art instrumentation for advanced characterization of molecular compounds and materials. This facility is used by in-house researchers who are involved in cutting-edge research programs. The facility is maintained by faculty members and technical assistants possessing essential expertise. Though this advanced instrumentation facilities primarily meant for the requirements of the ongoing R&D activities of the Institute, IISER Thiruvananthapuram extends utilisation of these facilities to academic and research organizations and industries on payment basis.
If you're a new user, click here to create a new IISER TVM CIF account. You will be redirected to the registration page and there you have to enter the institution/industry details.
After successful registration, you will receive an email in 15 minutes regarding the account credentials. After that you can login to the portal by using the same credentials.
Once after you logged into the portal you will be able to change the account password. The facility booking procedure can be start by clicking the "New Booking" link from the menu.
Please logon to the booking portal by clicking this link. For new users please register for one time by using “Create Account” link and with proper information. Password will be generated and will be mailed to the registered email id within 15 minutes. The same login credentials can be used for later submissions.
After login you can see the desired equipment’s email id and guidelines/documentation under the tab “New Booking”.
Before booking of the instrument one should compulsorily contact the instrument operator in the email id given (equipment mail) for the details & nature of the sample to be send and other information will be conveyed. Also, please read the guidelines attached there. After confirmation from the operator you can proceed for the booking.
If you are a student and seeking analysis charges as per the “Academic Institution”, please provide the authorisation/request letter from the research supervisor/department head each time of sample submission.
If you are a principal investigator seeking analysis charges as per the “Academic Institution”, please provide a self-declaration on the letter-head of your institution along with sign and seal.
Select the analytical facility and equipment, then read the documentation file. Only after that you will be able to select the experiment you require and proceed after confirmation. Select the number of samples to be measured and choose the option for additional charges, if any. The total amount to be paid will display on the screen.
You can pay the amount through SBI collect or by QR code scan. (Guideline for how to use SBI collect is also given as separate link). QR scan can be directly pay through any UPI app.
After the payment please upload the receipt in case of SBI collect and screen shot with the reference number clearly visible in case of QR scanner in the “Upload payment file” section.
You will able to download the proforma-invoice after the successful completion of payment.
Sample along with the relevant documents (authorization/ self-declaration letter, sample submission form sample details etc.) can be sent to the following address with the invoice number written on the top of the envelope.

On the successful completion of the sample analysis, the result will be sent to you through the email id given. The final invoice will be sent after the complete analysis and also any additional charges occurred during the data collection.
Please note the following two points
1. The invoice will be generated automatically in the name and address provided during registration. So if anybody needs the invoice with a particular address, please register accordingly or edit before booking any experiment. Invoice cannot be edited after booking /invoice generation. Both Proforma and final invoice are computer-generated, and no signature is required. No other kind of invoice will provide from IISER Thiruvananthapuram.
2. Since our institute is on the outskirts of the city, all private courier services may not have a delivery at this Pincode (695551). So, if you are using a private courier service other than India Post (always better), please ensure the delivery is available at this Pincode before sending the samples.
3. In any case, the remaining or after-data-taken samples cannot be sent back.
